Brand Overview

artistry built on presence, expression, and human connection.

Ballet exists equally for the dancer and the audience, creating experiences that move people emotionally and draw them together. Miami City Ballet doesn’t position ballet as untouchable perfection, but as a living force shaping connection, confidence, and community.

WHERE BALLET MEETS STREET ART

To elevate the world premiere of Heatscape and the 30th gala experience, the creative direction pushed beyond established brand conventions in favor of a more expressive and collectible design approach. A custom collaboration with activist and street artist Shepard Fairey brought unexpected cultural relevance and visual impact to the invitation and gala suite.

driving performance

Each ballet campaign was developed with a distinct visual language rooted in the traditions of its original choreographer and costume design, ensuring that the heritage of each production remained central to the storytelling. These classical references were then thoughtfully modernized through contemporary design systems, updated typography, and expressive imagery, translating historic works into a refreshed visual experience that resonated with a new generation.

Supporting the Arts

To commemorate the 30th anniversary, we developed a donor campaign centered around exclusive benefits for supporters contributing $30K+. The program combined celebratory storytelling with elevated membership perks to strengthen donor connection and increase high-level engagement.

Widely embraced by Miami’s high society donors and patrons, the campaign succeeded in creating a sense of prestige for this target audience through exclusive behind-the-scenes access and insider-first communications.

Building a contemporary brand system for the future of ballet.

  • Amid a culture of speed, screens, and distraction, audiences are seeking moments that feel immersive, human, and emotionally present. Miami City Ballet reframes ballet as a living cultural experience built on connection and feeling—sustained both on stage and through investment in emerging dancers and the future of the art form. This is ballet that is felt, not simply observed.

  • Rooted in Miami’s light, rhythm, and multicultural energy, Miami City Ballet reframes ballet as a human, immediate art form—where discipline and beauty coexist with warmth, openness, and expression.

It transforms performance into an immersive cultural experience, inviting audiences not only to observe, but to feel, connect with, and support the art form.

  • The ballet experience lives in the present — through movement, not spectacle. The brand expresses quiet discipline and elegance, balanced by an approachable energy that shifts the atmosphere.

The tone is luminous, modern, and composed. Artistry is revealed through precision, emotion, and restraint. Miami is embedded not through cliché, but through light, rhythm, openness, and cultural vibrancy. The world feels elevated yet welcoming — contemporary with a lasting relevance.

For the company, ballet becomes a shared emotional experience. For the school, training becomes a pathway to confidence, expression, and personal growth. Every detail reflects intention, fluidity, and presence.

  • The visual system centers on storytelling through presence and expression—capturing moments that feel observed rather than staged. Movement is portrayed as human, emotional, and connective, shaped by discipline, transformation, and shared experience.

The system moves between two complementary visual languages. Classical monochrome imagery emphasizes form, discipline, and architectural beauty—grounding the brand in ballet’s tradition and technical precision. In contrast, luminous color imagery reflects Miami’s energy, light, and cultural vibrancy, capturing the immediacy of lived experience.

The palette bridges both worlds: deep blacks, warm neutrals, and luminous whites form a classical base, accented by restrained Miami-inspired tones. Lighting is cinematic and atmospheric, balancing dramatic shadow with sun-washed softness.

Environments remain open, contemporary, and alive—shifting between rehearsal, performance, and the city itself. Moments include preparation, movement through Miami, and stillness before motion.

repositioning ballet education

The school materials were designed to bring a greater sense of vibrancy, energy, and approachability to the ballet experience, creating a welcoming entry point for both students and families.

“I’ve never met a creative that understands the nuances of strategy, audience, user experience, and media to this extent.

Starting with a light brief or discussion, Stephanie has the skills to produce outcomes that could be considered final versions with her first draft and all resulting performance metrics back that up.

Her versatility, good taste, sense of art, and drive for excellence gave me confidence that there isn’t a single project on earth that she wouldn’t be the right person for. She’s also pleasant to work with and was often the best part of everyone’s day. Don’t look any further - you won’t find any better.”
